Judy has been teaching piano for more than 30 years. She is a member of the Indiana Piano Teacher’s Guild, the Indiana Piano Teacher’s Association, the Indiana Federation of Music, and Matinee Musicale where she serves on the board as Secretary. She is also an active pianist performing for weddings, funerals, church services and special events. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in music from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree in piano performance from Butler University. Judy’s strength is in classical music, but she does teach popular pieces and holiday music as well. Judy believes it is important to understand each student’s unique personality and assign pieces that are a good “match” for the student’s personality and aptitude. Judy is skilled at teaching beginning to advanced students. Judy encourages recital participation and expects students to be prepared and have music memorized.
