In 2010 Meridian Music School voice instructor, Jane West, began directing the Education Department’s Musical Theater Camp at Meridian Music. She has grown the camp from a group of just five children performing fables to a cast of more than 30 putting on a full-length production with music, sets, costumes, and makeup! M3 Theatre Camp is a 501©3 Not-For-Profit Organization. M3 holds fundraisers throughout the year and relies on support from the community to keep the program running. In 2018 and 2019 M3 Theatre Camp was grateful to be a recipient of an Arts Grant from the City of Carmel.
M3 Theatre Camp’s mission is to help children learn the skills of discipline, teamwork, and creativity through quality programs that allow each child to shine! M3’s camps are open to children between the ages of 8 and 14. All students, regardless or past experience or skill level are cast in the summer production. The camp runs for 3-weeks each June with shows on the last three evenings of camp.
JOIN US FOR THE FALL FUNDRAISER!
As many of you know, M3 Theatre Camp holds a fall fundraiser each year that includes a live performance. This year our performance model will look a bit different, and we will be collaborating with Meridian Music School students during an outdoor recital at The Carmel Gazebo.
All interested M3 Theatre Camp participants will receive the music for “Together Wherever We Go” from Gypsy. Once students receive the music, they will need to schedule a music rehearsal time with Paulo on Zoom. A recording with student voices will be created. Students will attend live rehearsals with Jane to learn movement for the Music. Students will then perform the piece live with the pre-recorded music as the finale of the Meridian Music School Recital. We are hoping to create a video during the rehearsals and performance that would be available to parents a few weeks after the performance.
This experience is FREE to any student who is interested in participating, and all participants will receive a handmade mask made by Random Acts of Service in Carmel. We will be suggesting that friends and family attending the performance make a $5.00 donation to M3 Theatre Camp. We will also be selling masks made by Random Acts of Service and will be holding a silent auction. All proceeds will directly benefit M3 Theatre Camp’s Summer 2021 production.
In order to comply with The Hamilton County Health Department and the City of Carmel’s guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19, all participants and families must maintain a distance of 6-feet apart or more and wear masks at all times.
