Ginny Karel Womack, violinist, is a native of Evanston, Illinois, and is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She has played in orchestras in Venezuela and Italy, and since 1988 has been a member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Over the years Ginny has accompanied such performers as Luciano Pavarotti, Sandi Patty, Rod Stewart, Michael Feinstein, and Barry Manilow, amongst others. In addition to playing in the Lockerbie String Quartet, Trio Bel Suono, and being an active studio musician, Ginny is the founder and leader of INDYKLEZ, Central Indiana’s premier klezmer band- an ensemble that performs a variety of Eastern European folk music. She also directs the Youth Klezmer Band at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck in Indianapolis, as well as the Bows and Strings Violin Choir which is comprised of her class of private violin students.
