Dave has been teaching guitar for more than 33 years and has taught at Meridian Music since 2005. He spent 12 years as a guitar professor at IUPUI. Dave holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and English Literature. He is also affiliated with the Cross Roads Blues Society. Dave teaches a wide variety of guitar styles, including blues, slide guitar, ragtime, jazz, rock, country, and some classical. Dave believes it is important to teach students to teach themselves. Dave has conducted children’s seminars and adult clinics and is confident teaching people of any age. In addition to being a wonderful teacher, Dave is also an accomplished performer and recording artist. He has recorded albums with Slippery Noodle Sound, Waterview Records, and Fretknot Records. He spent 10 years performing on Norwegian Cruise Lines. Dave has also done 5 European tours, 1 tour in South America, and 2 tours of Ireland, England, and Scotland. He was the opening act at the Chicago Blues Festival in 1996. He was one of two teachers named Meridian Music Teacher of the Year in 2006.
