My name is Caryn Smith.  I began piano lessons when I was 5 with renowned teacher Gerda Fisher-Kley and also studied piano privately with Martin Marks at Butler University.  I have been teaching piano since 2000 and joined Meridian Music in 2006.  I teach from age 5-adult beginning piano lessons through college level.  I love teaching.  I truly teach every child/adult individually based on their natural abilities, dexterity, drive, attention span, and their love of music.  I view my teaching and my students’ learning as a team effort.  I work hard to keep my students excited about learning music, and they in turn enjoy practicing and working hard to achieve their goals.  As a result, I have most of my students from elementary school age through to when they leave for college.  It is just as exciting for me to see their growth in their music abilities as it is for their parents.  In addition to piano, I also teach beginning guitar and classical guitar.  Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.
