Timothy Barnett has been teaching violin and viola at Meridian Music since 2014 after graduating from Ball State University with a violin performance degree. He began playing professionally in 2006, regularly rehearsing and performing on violin and viola with a string quartet. Timothy now plays with the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra and the Fishers Chamber Orchestra. He also practices and performs on piano, organ, bass guitar, and double bass. He draws influence from a diversity of musicians, from Bach, Beethoven, and Debussy, to jazz musicians like Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and Herbie Hancock, as well as rock bands like the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa, and Led Zeppelin. He enjoys playing in many different environments with different people and genres, sometimes with sheet music and other times, with more creative freedom to discover original music with others.
