Soprano Therese Pircon has been praised for her dramatic versatility, striking warmth of tone, and soaring high notes. Ms. Pircon has performed in a variety of venues both nationally and internationally. Her vocal abilities extend beyond opera, having done crossover work in jazz, musical theatre, and oratorio repertoire. In the spring of 2019, Ms. Pircon will be joining Indianapolis Opera as a Resident Artist and covering the role of Guenevere. This August, Ms. Pircon made her Berlin Opera Academy debut singing the role of Pamina in Mozart’s classic opera Die Zauberflote. Amongst Pamina, Ms. Pircon has performed the roles of 2nd Niece (Peter Grimes), Nella (Gianni Schicchi). The Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier), Beauty (Beauty and the Beast), Mrs. Gobineau (The Medium), and Ciesca (Gianni Schicci). With her engagements, Ms. Pircon has also placed in several esteemed vocal competitions, including the 2018 Elaine Malbin Vocal Competition and the 2018 Lois Alba Aria Competition, both as a semi-finalist, along with the 2017 Saltworks Vocal Competition, where she placed 2nd. In 2015, she was a National Semi-Finalist for the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. While preparing for her operatic debut with the Indianapolis Opera, Ms. Pircon will be performing a solo recital in the Czech Centenary Music Festival at Western Illinois University as well as joining the Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis as the Soprano I section leader. Ms. Pircon hails from Western Illinois University with a BM in Vocal Performance, a MM degree in Vocal Performance from UNC-Greensboro, and recently graduated this May from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music with a Performer Diploma in Vocal Performance.
