Tammany has been teaching voice at Meridian Music since 2006. Tammany has had experience working with children in various environments, but she especially enjoys working with young musicians. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education for the University of Maine and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Butler University. While at Butler, Tammany taught private lessons for the Butler Community Arts School. In addition to teaching, Tammany enjoys performing. While at the University of Maine, she performed with the University Singers, Athena Consort, the Oratorio Society, and the U. Maine Opera Workshop. She has also performed with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Hancock County, Penobscot Theatre Company, Maine Shakespeare Festival, and Bangor Community Theatre. During her tenure at Butler, Tammany performed with Butler Lyric Theatre and the JCFA Composers’ Orchestra, including premier performances of works written specifically for her. She also sang in JCFA’s collaborative production of Philip Glass’s The Photographer. Tammany was the soprano section leader at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in Indianapolis from 2004-2008. Currently, she is the director of the Celebration Choir (grades K-2_ and the soprano section leader at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Broad Ripple. In addition to teaching voice, Tammany teaches piano.
